Remember Christine, the winner of the Awesome Mom Free Photo Shoot Contest? Well, last month I was totally stoked when she hired me to shoot her family. I guess she enjoyed her Boudoir shoot so much that she just had to come back for more! Can’t say I’m surprised though, I’m just that awesome ;)!!!
I’ve already told you all about Christine and how amazing I think she is, so I won’t rehash the details of my admiration for this beautiful, amazing woman who is bursting with life and loves to throw her head back and have a good laugh. However, if you want to read more about her, you can do so here.
Let me tell you a little about the kids that make up the “family” part.
I’m not going to lie to you, I think I’m in love with another man…well, he’s more of a boy really, but shhhh, don’t tell Greg! His name is Nicholas. He’s three and he cracks me up like a laugh junkie at a comedy convention. This boy has it all – charm, a sweet and sour disposition and a deep, totally obvious love-on for his big sister, Madison. Some of you may have read my comment on a previous blog when I talked about showing some bear tracks to some kids while we were shooting and the little boy pointed to a huge pile of mud with a very serious face and said, “And that’s the crap.” Yep, that was Nick and yes, it still makes me laugh out loud when I think about it.
And then there’s Maddy. I think precocious sums her up nicely. Although animated, mischievious, sweet, attitudial (yeah, I just used a made up word that I’ve been using since highschool), and giggly also fit her nicely. She’s beautiful (just like her mama) and, despite the fact that she made a pained face nearly every time she was asked to hug her little brother, she was a pleasure to photograph. I loved her little grrrrr face that she used when she didn’t want Nick bugging her! It makes me smile whenever I see her making it in a picture.
Sometimes in life we are fortunate enough to cross paths with people who have magnetic personalities and Christine and her kids are all magnetic people. Our shoot went by at the speed of sound and, before I knew it, we were done and I was waving goodbye. It’s been a few weeks, but I’m so happy with their photos – not only do each of their personalities shine through, but I feel like laughing when I see so many of them. I love shoots that leave me pumped up and happy and this shoot left me on a natural high for days afterward.
Here are some of my faves.
Even little sweeties can have their meltdown moments! LOL.
This is where Maddy was showing me the scar on Nick’s forehead!
And this would be Maddy’s “I don’t want to touch my brother” face! LOL.
Maddy wrote her and Nick’s names on the beach…and then Nick laid down on the sand, as boys will do!
And then he couldn’t resist showing us how sandy he was!
And this one makes me laugh out loud every time I look at it.
We tried to get Nick to go cross-eyed by watching his finger come close to his nose…didn’t work out so well…LOL.
And, of course, I always love the parents walking with their kids shot.
Thanks guys, for making the shoot SO much fun and for keeping me laughing for days afterward! I can’t WAIT to do it again!
