I dig weddings. They’re challenging. They’re exhausting. They’re beautiful.
I dig Colleen and Phil. They are perfect together.
She’s sweet-natured, gorgeous, gracious and graceful while he’s manly, handsome, humorous and unhurried. Perfect together.
She ran a bit late with hair and makeup on their wedding day and he forgot the rings in his truck and had to run to get them just before the ceremony began. Neither of them stressed out about the ceremony starting late and both of them laughed heartily during their nuptials and throughout their pictures. Perfect together.
The day was filled with smoke from forest fires, but fitting for their Native Smudging ceremony. It was performed with sage smoke, meant to purify their bodies – mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally –and carry prayers and well wishes up to the heavens to the Creator and the universe as the smoke rose to mingle with that of the fires. Perfect together.
The day – with its smoke and mishaps, its laughter and lateness, its love and chaos – and the couple and their friends and families…perfect together.
Thanks Colleen and Phil (and Heather and family) for allowing Andrew and I to be a part of such a special day. I wish you all enough…
