Kevin and I grew up together in Logan Lake and I met Sarah through our mutual friend Shannon. Actually, I believe I met Sarah and Shannie at the same time, in a Genetics class, and I’m sure the circumstances were memorable, but I honestly can’t remember them. I vaguely remember turning around and saying something to them that gave them pause, but don’t remember exactly what it was. Regardless, it broke the ice!
I was thrilled when Sarah and Kevin got all married up and stuff – they’re both super nice peeps and, together, they’re extra sticky sweet stuff! Throw a baby into the mix and POOF! Marshmallowy goodness!
The Serls live in Calgary, so I decided to take them down to the beach for our shoot, thinking they would enjoy the scenery. I didn’t know that it would get ridiculously WINDY as soon as we started shooting. LOL. Nothing like a wall of sand in the face (and all through the hair and teeth) to make a family portrait stand out!
As you know, I strive to be the master of the “unposed” photograph and prefer to capture families just doing their thing and being genuine. (although I always do one or two token posed shots – Bleck!) This was a piece of cake with the the Serls! Their little guy, I’ll call him “W”, was a total ham! Here are some of my faves from our shoot.
I just realized this shoot was done a month ago. I’m SO backlogged right now because of this yucky walking pneumonia. It’s knocking me off my feet. Hopefully, I’ll catch up soon, so if you’re waiting for pics… 😉
Happy Monday! I wish you all enough…
